New Stash and Progress Pic

Just popping in for a quick needlework update! A recent birthday brought with it some new stash, including The Drawn Thread's "Autumn Arbor."

I've also managed to complete a little bit more of CCN's "Peppermint Lane."

Thanks for dropping by and checking out my progress!

Until Next Halloween...

Here is my last progress picture of "Ghastly Ghostly Ghouls" until next Halloween. I'm going to wait until next year to finish it as I want to move on to Christmas stitching now.

It has been such a lovely fall so far. I'm loving every minute of it.

It's Still Spring! and Halloween Stitching

I have changed my background so that it feels a bit more like Halloween: dark and mysterious.

Last year I started Just Nan's "Ghastly Ghostly Ghouls" and put it away in November so that I could finish it this October, closer to Halloween. Here is my progress so far.

"Spring Arbor" is also coming along slowly but surely. When I finish the top motif I will begin the beading. That should be interesting (hopefully not a disaster)...I don't have much experience beading fabric!

On the book front: I've got "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies" on the go right now and am finding it fascinating. Thanks for visiting!

Summer Comes to a Close

Just got back from an end-of-summer vacation! I have more progress on Spring Arbor to show you.

I also wanted to say thank you to my new followers and those who have left comments recently. Hope you all had a lovely summer! I can't wait for autumn and Halloween stitching!

More Spring Arbor

Here is some more progress on Spring Arbor. As I mentioned in my last post, the lovely pink colour of the linen does not show up in my photos, so you have to use your imagination. I'm still having so much fun with this design! The first two trees are finished. The third needs its beading, as do other areas of the design, all of which I will do after I complete the stitching.

Thanks for visiting and your kind commments!

Spring Arbor Progress

After not touching Spring Arbor (Drawn Thread) for some time, I finally picked it up again. I feel more prepared for the specialty stitches this time around. These photos don't do the colours justice. The linen is a beautiful soft pink and the silks are lovely. This may take me some time, but I just love this project.

This and That

Thank you to everyone who left comments on my last post. It's the most comments I've ever received on a single post! It's lovely to know that people are returning to check out my blog and that new people have found it.

Well, here we are on the other side of an extreme heat wave! I can't believe we made it through. Just before it started to get really hot we had an absolutely amazing thunderstorm that lasted for hours one evening.

With the insane weather and the typical traipsing about of summer, I have not stitched too much lately. But, I have made a bit of progress on Victorian Violets.

I have been reading a lot, though! I just finished Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris, the first book in the Sookie Stackhouse series (the show True Blood is based on it). It was too rough/grisly for me. I'm not a fan of the book or the show now. I have also continued to read the Runelords series by David Farland. I'm in love with this series! It is rich with detail and I just adore immersing myself in a different world that is well thought out. I'm on to the fifth book now, Sons of the Oak. I also have a Paul Newman biography on the go that I find quite fascinating.

Some wild flowers I saw on my walk today

Well, that's it for today. Thanks for visiting!

The Tea Room Complete

I'm finally finished "The Tea Room" by Country Cottage Needleworks! It's such a lovely and whimsical design and was such fun to stitch. I must confess that I deliberately stitched it slowly!

I guess I'll continue to work on "Victorian Violets" now. I still need to get the materials for "Simply Live," but I'd like to start that this summer as well. I also have a Halloween WIP that I'm saving for September or October, but I'm already starting to think about it.

Thanks for stopping by!

Progress & a Giveaway

I've been pretty busy lately, so I don't have much progress to report. I hope to check in again soon with a finish.

I also wanted to let you know that Plum Street Samplers is having a great giveaway. Be sure to enter on Sunday, July 19. Tatting Chic is also having a lovely giveaway.

A Tree and a Park Bench

I am slowly working away on this and am really enjoying it! I still have to stitch the leaves on the tree, a bottom scrolling design, and the title.

We are having absolutely beautiful weather and I'm enjoying it so much! Yesterday was Canada Day and we had a perfect view of the fireworks (in two locations!) from our balcony. Thanks for visiting!

The Tea Room & New Stash

Melissa told me about a local needlework shop I had never heard of (Dick and Jane) and I finally made a pilgrimage there last week. It's a lovely little store and I was excited to find "Simply Live" by The Primitive Needle.

I also made some progress on "The Tea Room" by Country Cottage Needleworks.
